Your Situation
Tell us which UK nation governs your employment, what the dispute is, and where you are in the Acas Early Conciliation process.
This letter will cite
Employment Rights Act 1996 s.111(2)(a), s.23(2), s.207B + Equality Act 2010 s.123 + Working Time Regulations 1998 reg.30 + SI 2025/1153 (12-week Early Conciliation)
Your letter will cite the three-months-less-one-day primary tribunal clock, explain the Day A / Day B stop-the-clock under ERA 1996 s.207B, and confirm the 12-week Acas Early Conciliation window introduced by SI 2025/1153 (in force 1 December 2025). Northern Ireland is handled separately because SI 2025/1153 does not extend there.
If you are in Northern Ireland, Early Conciliation is run by the Labour Relations Agency under the 2020 NI Regulations — SI 2025/1153 does not apply to you.
For unfair dismissal, this is the EDT (ERA 1996 s.97). For discrimination, the date of the act complained of — or, where a series of acts, the date of the last one (EA 2010 s.123(3)).
