Your Situation

Tell us which UK nation administers your PIP, the date on your decision letter, and what was decided.

This letter will cite

Social Security Act 1998 s.9 + Social Security and Child Support (Decisions and Appeals) Regulations 1999 reg.3(1) and reg.5 + Social Security (PIP) Regulations 2013 reg.4(2A), reg.7 and Schedule 1

Your letter will request a Mandatory Reconsideration under s.9 SSA 1998, frame the descriptor disputes against the reg.4(2A) reliability test (safely, to an acceptable standard, repeatedly, and within a reasonable time period) and the reg.7 more-than-50%-of-days rule, and preserve your right of appeal to the First-tier Tribunal under TCEA 2007 s.11.

If you are in Scotland and the disputed decision is Adult Disability Payment, you must use the Redetermination Request process within 42 days — not this letter.

The one-month time limit runs from the date PRINTED on the decision letter under reg.3(1) — not the date you received it.

Used to confirm you meet the PIP age criteria (16 to State Pension age).

You came here to know your rights — help someone else know theirs.
