Your data request
Under the GDPR you can ask any organisation for a copy of the personal data it holds about you, and ask it to delete data it no longer has a lawful reason to keep. This letter makes that request and starts the one-month clock.
This letter will cite
GDPR Art.15 (right of access) and Art.17 (right to erasure), with the Data Protection Act 2018. One calendar month to respond (Art.12(3)), extendable by up to two months if complex. Enforced by the Data Protection Commission (DPC).
The organisation cannot charge a fee for a normal request. If it ignores you or refuses without a valid reason, you can complain to the DPC free of charge.

Is this legal advice?
This tool creates a self-help subject access / erasure request that you complete and send in your own name. It is general legal information, not legal advice, and we are not a law firm or your solicitors. The GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern personal data in the Republic of Ireland and are enforced by the Data Protection Commission. Rules change over time — check the current position before you escalate.
What if I need to change something afterwards?
Tell us and we will either adjust the letter and send you the updated version at no cost, or refund you in full — your choice. If we can’t deliver what you paid for, the refund is automatic. Full terms are on our promise page.
Do I have to pay to know if I have a case?
No. The rights encyclopedia on this site is free and cites the same primary sources the letter does. Read the relevant guide first — plenty of situations are resolved by a phone call to a free statutory body, and where one exists we say so.
