What is this right?

Three jobs in parallel. Call your bank's fraud line — under Lov om betalinger (Danish PSD2) the bank must refund unauthorised electronic transactions by end of next business day. When does it apply?

What to Do in the First Day After Being Scammed

  1. Call your bank's fraud line. Number from the card or in the official app.
  2. Report online via politi.dk or call 114. Cybercrime cases route to NC3.
  3. For consumer-protection issues, file with Forbrugerombudsmanden (Consumer Ombudsman).
  4. Preserve evidence. Cloud-save screenshots, transaction SMS, voice notes.
  5. Change passwords; switch to authenticator-app 2FA.
  6. Lock MitID if compromised — call MitID support immediately.

What should you NOT do?

  • Don't share MitID / banking credentials with anyone.
  • Don't pay 'recovery agents' upfront.

What is NC3?

NC3 (Nationalt Cyber Crime Center) is the Danish National Police's specialist cybercrime unit. Reports made through politi.dk or 114 for cybercrime cases route to NC3. NC3 also runs national prevention and intelligence functions.

What is the customer liability cap?

Under Lov om betalinger, the customer liability cap for unauthorised use of a lost or stolen payment instrument is DKK 375, unless the customer acted with gross negligence. For grossly negligent disclosure of PIN or credentials, the cap rises to DKK 8,000. For unauthorised transactions occurring after the customer notified the bank, liability is zero.

Does Det finansielle ankenævn cost anything?

Det finansielle ankenævn charges a modest filing fee (currently DKK 200) which is refunded if the complaint succeeds. Decisions are non-binding on the bank but banks normally comply; rejection rates against bank decisions are published.

What is MitID?
